The Capital Beltway HOT Lanes – now officially named the 495 Express Lanes – are high occupancy toll (HOT) lanes that will operate on the I-495/Capital Beltway. These two new lanes in each direction on the Virginia side of the Capital Beltway from the Springfield Interchange to just north of the Dulles Toll Road (approximately 14 miles).

Upcoming Construction Milestones
Construction Improvements and Major Activities

At the end of the project, there will be four new lanes on part of the Capital Beltway. And, more than 50 bridges and overpasses as well as 12 major interchanges will be replaced. Learn more about the planned construction here.
